INTERNATIONAL JURY OF IFF “LOVE IS FOLLY”

ILIAN DJEVELEKOV
Bulgaria
ILIAN DJEVELEKOV was born in 1966 in Plovdiv. He has an MA degree in Film and TV Directing from NATFA, Sofia. In 2001 Ilian co-founded Miramar Film production company, where he directed and produced hundreds of TV commercials and several documentaries. He is producer of a number of Bulgarian films and co-productions, including Zift winner of Golden Rose 2008. Ilian’s first feature film, LOVE.NET (2011) ranks among the top ten of all time grossing movies in Bulgaria and had its international premiere at the Moscow IFF. He received the Best Director Award from the Bulgarian Film Academy, among many others. His sophomore feature film, Omnipresent (2017), same as his debut picture, is based on his original idea. The film had a successful run at the box office after winning the Golden Rose top prize for Best Picture, Best Actor and Actress, the Critics’ and the Audience Awards. It was Bulgarian entry for Foreign Language Oscar award. Ilian is director co-writer and executive producer of TV mini-series The Portal, which aired on Bulgarian National Television in May 2021.

Magnus Kristiansen
Norway
Magnus Kristiansen has worked with media and tech-startups in Silicon Valley for 6 + years, project managing marketing campaigns for Disney/Marvels ‘Avengers’, Sony Pictures ‘One Direction – The Movie’ and Adidas feat. Justin Bieber. Kristiansen runs the production company 20/20 Pictures out of Oslo, Norway. Kristiansen has produced three features, THE COMET (“Best Sci-Fi” Rhode Island FF, Austin Film Festival 2017) and AS I FALL (Special Jury Award, Black Nights FF 2018 and 4 Amanda Award nominations (The Norwegian Oscar)).
Kristiansen just completed the feature SWAMP LION, a neo-western crime drama shot in Texas, USA with 3-time Oscar nominee Mac Ruth as Executive Producer. Kristiansen holds an MFA at the Norwegian Film School as Producer. He also holds an MSc in Innovation and Entrepreneurship at BI Norwegian School of Management and UC
Berkeley and a BA in Film and Television Science at Lillehammer University College.

Paavo Westerberg
Finland
Paavo Westerberg is an award-winning, internationally acclaimed cinema director, screenwriter, theatre director and playwright. He has worked as a screenwriter for the feature films The Violin Player, 2018, Princess, 2010, Frozen City, 2006, and Frozen Land, 2005, as well as for the television drama Fragments, 2003.
Paavo Westerberg has won the Jussi Award for the best script in 2007 and in 2006 for the films Frozen City and Frozen Land. He also wrote and directed the television drama Latent Heat, 2010, which was nominated for the Prix Italia Award.
The Violin Player (2018) was Westerberg’s debut as a major film director. The film has been chosen by over 20 international film festivals and it made its international debut in the main competition category at Göteborg Film Festival in Sweden. The film won the Golden Aphrodite Grand Prix Award and the Critics’ Guild Award at the 27th edition of Love Is Folly International Film Festival (2019) in Varna.
Westerberg is one of the leading theatre directors in Finland. He is resident playwright at the Finnish National Theatre and he has written and directed almost 25 plays.
Westerberg has a master’s degree in Theatre and lives in Helsinki.
